I love to share my progress making things. Especially games. Especially online. It helps keep me accountable and regular in my progress, and it gives a great little boost to hear when someone actually looks at my stuff.

For decades now, I've done this with Twitter, Artstation, Tumblr, Facebook, Deviant Art, Message Boards, you name it. Those places are complicated. They're ever changing, uncontrolled, in pursuit of profits and endless growth, dubious ethics and more. So, I've put together this very basic blog. It follows some of the wisdom of Chris Zukowski's article, Don't Build your castle in other people's kingdoms, and speaks to recent resurgence of self-hosted websites and a more distributed internet.

"Why not use a static site generator?"

I played around with Hugo recently, and while it looks marvelous, it's too fiddly for my tastes. I've used Wordpress and Squarespace in the past as well. This stuff changes a lot. It can be expensive. Sometimes an update will nuke everything. I'm ironically not a person interested in making websites. I don't like web dev. I barely care about SEO. So I'm charging forward with this hand-written, very basic HTML blog. It's a folder on my desktop that I push online, and if the server goes down, I'll find somewhere else to push it.

You can expect that I'll use this blog to share Krog updates, with lots of small embedded videos and some Unity how-tos mixed in. I'll share some work accomplishments, announcements, tutorials, and cool things my friends have made too. So uh, don't like or subscribe, because you can't. Just come here when I share these pages on some other part of the internet, and maybe I'll do a mailing list someday.
