Hey, I'm Ryan. I'm a seasoned game development generalist with deep experience across art, code, and production. I've shipped dozens of games across all sorts of platforms, co-founded the award-winning Reptoid Games studio, helped build up Durham College's MRC Studio, established Interactive Ontario's Indie Superboost series, and founded Ontario Game Testers, a game testing studio created specifically for indies.
As a Technical Artist, I specialize in being the connective tissue between creative vision and runtime reality. I thrive on solving the complex, multi-disciplinary puzzles that automated tools can't touch, and building resilient asset pipelines, untangling performance bottlenecks, and translating technical constraints for artists and aesthetic goals for engineers. My goal is to make sure the creative vision translates cleanly into the engine, the build runs as smoothly as possible on target hardware, and production friction is kept to a minimum.
Today, I work with the lovely people at Sago Mini as Senior Technical Artist on the Apple Design Award Winning Jinja's Garden, out now on Apple Arcade.
